New Orleans Museum of Art
The New Orleans Museum of Art (NOMA) is considered to be among the most significant fine arts museums in the Gulf South. The renovation and expansion included a two-story addition to the main building as well as two new wings. A third floor addition to the main building provided roof terraces and courtyards for sculpture exhibitions. By increasing the facility from 75,000 to 130,000-square feet and doubling the permanent exhibition space, NOMA became comparable to museums in much larger cities. Moreover, the interior gallery’s movable wall system created flexibility for exhibition spaces, enabling NOMA to display more of its permanent collection as well as attract large traveling exhibitions.
